Something that I really wanted to share for long and I did not get a chance to do this video. so finally I am here and I am going to talk about one plugin, one chrome extension, one service that will help you a lot in your blogging, especially if you are nonnative English write, you are form a country like India or any other Asian country, non-English speaking country, this tool is going to be your savior. So I will tell you exactly one of the major problem that I face in day to day blogging is English. You know English is not my first language, though I try to learn, I try to improve as much as I could but still I am not a native English speaker or writer and I make a lot of mistake.
Now in the past I have hired somebody to help me with proofreading my articles, finding that silly grammatical mistake but that was a costly affair and especially if you are blogging for fun, you just started blogging out of curiosity or running an average blog, you might not a lot on a proofreader. The alternative for that is a plugin service called Grammarly. I started using Grammarly almost two months back and I waited so far so that I can share the review with you. So let me quickly so you how Grammarly works, how it will help you in your blog writing. After watching this review, go ahead and install Grammarly right away but let me first show you how this works. So, technically I have this article which was written last year. I read the article and I have this bad habit of writing and just going through it once and publishing it. Trust me; it’s not a good habit. If you really want to make sure your article is good, write it right now and review it later before publishing and proofread once. Well, as a human, you and me can proofread as much as much as possible but having an extra pair of eyes is a blessing, right? This is where this plugin called Grammarly comes into the picture and it works seamlessly for WordPress dashboard and even for Facebook status updates. In fact, it works with almost anything, first you install the chrome extension, and it makes it very easier. So let me show you how I work with Grammarly.
So this is one of my blogpost which I have written in the past. I am going to edit it. So at the bottom, you see this error. So this is 33 critical issues suggested by Grammarly and all I need to do is click on 'correct'. It will show me all the options that what are the suggested changes that will improve the overall article, the grammatical mistake that I should work upon. You will be impressed with the
way this plugins works. It tells you to add comma, where you are making silly mistake like 'there' and 'their'. Those mistakes that we often repeat a lot and the best part is that when you start correcting these mistakes, all you need to do is just simply click on the suggestion and it will keep replacing it quickly, you don’t have to do much. Now when you are doing it what I recommend, start taking a note of most common mistakes that you make. For example, I make a lot of mistakes by not adding comma at the right places or capitalization is another problem that I have figured out after using this extension and it has definitely helped me to improve my writing. So more on that later, here you see, I have missed one character and this plugin showed me that this could be a part. So like this, you can improve your article and you would be improved drastically once you start using this. Now before we move ahead, let me show you more feature of this plugin. So I am not going to make changes right now. Let me just make these 1-2 quick changes because this is live article. So
anyways, vocabulary enhancement, once you select it, it will start suggesting some words like an alternative word that you can use. For example, I used 'Amazing' a lot of time in this article; I can probably change it with 'Fantastic'. See, technically, Grammarly is a suggestion tool, it helps you to improve your writing but you should always take complete control of whatever changes you are making, at times, it’s a tool and it can give you some vogue suggestion which may not be appropriate for the article that you have written. So you can ignore those but overall, it’s amazing. Now here is another thing that is very important, plagiarism. If you are running a multi-author blog or if you hire content writer to write for your blog, you need to make sure that article is not being copied from somewhere.
This is where plagiarism checker of Grammarly comes into picture, you just enable it and it shows you all the unoriginal text. Now in this case, it’s actually searching for a live page which is already live and showing from my blog only, so I can ignore it but again, this tool is brilliant. Well, this is one of the features; maybe you don’t want to use the web interface like this, like inside the WordPress, well here is another great thing. You can actually upload a document and check for the grammatical errors. so let me quickly show you an example, so this is my e-book and I click on 'New', so this is my Grammarly dashboard and simply I copy this complete article and it would take few seconds if not minutes to scan all my content and start suggesting me the changes.
